You may already be aware that the
ability to fund the purchase or construction of an abortion
facility is virtually impossible thru many conventional
financial institutions.
The Abortion Access Fund, Inc., was
established January 2nd, 2000, with a mission to
develop a fund that could financially underwrite abortion
clinics at lower than standard, high risk interest rates and
hold the clinic mortgages. The fund will then use the
interest income generated to subsidize abortions for
low-income women in the form of both grants and loans.
Our goal, for the first year, is to
raise $500,000.00 and to place this in mortgages at a 9.5%
rate of interest, and to use $45,000 of the interest income
in grants and loans to financially dependent women in need
of abortions.
Our most urgent challenge will be to
help secure a mortgage for the Abortion & Contraception
Clinic of Nebraska. They have less than 30 days to close a
$350,000 mortgage. We have already identified a second
clinic in Florida that has had their building bought and
lease cancelled. These happenings have alerted many other
clinics that their leasehold position is precarious. We
expect that this will yet become another tactic the
anti-choice community will use to make abortion unavailable
even while legal.
You can guarantee our mission will
be achieved! Even if you can only make a small
contribution, you will help us realize our goals. Your
commitment is necessary for us to make this possible. For
as little as a few cents a day you can secure the option of
safe and legal abortion remains available for yourself, your
children, your grandchildren and your friends.

Fund, Inc., is an I.R.S. section 501 (c) (3) approved
corporation under National Network of Abortion Funds, Inc.
Group Exemption # 9255. AAF, Inc., and is in the process
of seeking our own Exemption
Number.

Only fifteen of our fifty states offer
Medicaid funding of abortions. Your support of our fund will
enable many women in the other thirty-five states as well as
many that can not qualify for Medicaid to obtain an abortion and
not be burdened with an unwanted child.
